Social enterprise Internship

Are you ambitious, hardworking, and goal-oriented? We are looking for Worthy Co. interns for Summer 2019 and/or Fall 2019! This internship is hands-on where you will be working directly with the Worthy Co team and gain great experience in the socially conscious retail space. You will be working in a fast-pace environment where you are expected to give 100%. Outgoing personality is a plus!

About: The Worthy Co. is a social enterprise of The Net, a non-profit that serves people in poverty. Worthy Co. provides dignified employment to survivors of trafficking, prostitution and addiction. The women hand-craft jewelry and hand-pour candles that are sold online, at markets, and in our soon to be brick and mortar retail shop set to open at the end of 2019.

Job Description: The candidate would help to market products online and do some coordinating with our wholesale account clients. They would help train the women in the jewelry and candle production, as well as, assist our Worthy Co. employees in their personal growth through some management.  Additionally, the candidate would help with research and development of future product, fulfillment of product and launch campaigns online through marketing and social media. The job includes working at markets and pop-ups on some weekends.

Job Type: part-time internship, 8-10 hours per week unpaid, + 10 or more hours per month of markets with hourly pay

Internship Dates

Spring 2020:

January - May

Requirements:

  • Organized & skilled at effective time management

  • Enjoys sales (Retail experience a plus!)

  • Good at engaging customers

  • Outgoing personality

  • Available on weekends when needed

  • Must do 10-15 hrs per month working markets

  • Ability to be patient and caring towards our survivor leaders

  • Comfortable working within a faith based environment

Qualifications:

  • Interest in social enterprises

  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of Instagram and basic graphic design for social media

  • Ability to learn new online tools like GoogleDocs, Mailchimp, and Canva

  • Ability to remain focused within a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Strong individual problem solving and organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excitement for all things e-commerce, digital marketing, and retail industry!

  • Most importantly, a passion for vulnerable women to heal and flourish in their gifts!

  • Photography and graphic design knowledge a plus!

  • Experience with Shopify, Mailchimp, or Adobe suite programs such as Photoshop and InDesign are a plus!
