Role: The Worthy Co. Store Manager

Hours: 32+ Hours/Week

  • Department: The Worthy Co.

  • Location: Fort Worth, TX (in person position)

  • Primarily Tuesday-Friday 9am-5pm

  • At least two Saturday shifts per month

  • Evening and weekend shifts as needed, pending part-time staff coverage

Vision of Role

The Worthy Co. is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Store Manager to lead our retail shop and Candle Studio, where every product and interaction supports and uplifts survivors of trafficking and exploitation. This role blends operational leadership with community-centered impact—ideal for someone who excels at creating meaningful customer experiences, managing efficient retail operations, and developing high-performing teams. As a key leader in our social enterprise, you’ll help ensure smooth, organized, and engaging day-to-day store and studio operations while cultivating a warm, dignifying environment that reflects the strength and resilience of the women we serve.

Job responsibilities

Retail Store & Customer Service Manager

  • Oversee and Manage Retail Operations at The Worthy Co. Store ensuring:

    • Customers receive a warm welcome and engaging shopping experience.
      ○ The POS system is operated efficiently, and transactions are processed accurately.
      ○ The store remains fully stocked and attractively merchandised.
      ○ Sales reports are completed and reviewed.

  • Ensure staffing coverage during all store hours.

  • Maintain and order necessary retail supplies.

  • Open and close the store while following security procedures.

  • Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing.

  • Monitor sales performance and ensure reports are completed accurately.

  • Monitor email accounts, responding promptly to customer inquiries, donation requests, and other issues.

Candle Studio Manager

  • Oversee public and private candle-making classes, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees.

  • Lead participants through the candle-making process while sharing The Worthy Co.’s mission.

  • Manage class scheduling, customer inquiries, and payment processing.

  • Monitor ticket sales and class attendance.

  • Ensure the Candle Studio is clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with supplies.

Employee Management & Development

  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to hire, train, and manage Retail Associates.

  • Maintain quality control of the Candle Studio script delivery and provide ongoing training and feedback to instructors.

  • Oversee scheduling and time-off requests while ensuring adequate store and event coverage.

  • Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and productivity to optimize labor costs while ensuring operational efficiency and excellent customer service.

  • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback.

  • Address customer complaints and staff concerns professionally.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management

    • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits

      • Implement loss prevention measures when necessary

      • Identify inefficiencies in systems and improve when necessary

      • Collaborate with Operations Manager on planning production based on
        inventory needs

      • Place orders with vendors as needed

    • Ensure all products are accurately priced and labeled

  • In-Store Events & Community Engagement

    • Plan and coordinate in-store events, including purchasing decor and supplies.

    • Develop partnerships with local businesses and community organizations.

    • Oversee seasonal store decorations to enhance the customer experience.

    • Serve as point of contact for donation requests

  • External Events Management

    • Evaluate and coordinate participation in off-site events.

    • Organize staffing and ensure smooth event execution by:

      • Packing, transporting, and setting up inventory displays.

      • Engaging with customers and sharing The Worthy Co’s mission.

      • Operating the POS system and meeting sales goals.

      • Packing up and closing out after each event.

      • Monitor sales performance and ensure reports are completed accurately.

REQUIREments

  • 2-4 years of retail management experience is highly encouraged.

  • Mature Christian faith

  • Active in a faith community/church

Strengths needed

  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting POS systems.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to analyze sales data and generate reports.

  • Knowledge of retail stock management and merchandising techniques.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to create a positive work environment.

  • Experience in sales promotion and visual merchandising.

  • Ability to train and lead retail staff effectively.

  • Compensation will be commensurate with experience
